Six Apart acquista Pownce… e lo chiude!!
Six Apart ha annunciato l’acquisto di Pownce, contemporaneamente è apparsa sia sul sito ufficiale, sia sul blog di Pownce che il servizio verrà chiuso dal 15 Dicembre.
Io la notizia l’ho apprea in una email contenente il testo:
“We are sad to announce that Pownce is shutting down on December 15,
2008. As of today, Pownce will no longer be accepting new users or new
pro accounts.To help with your transition, we have built an export tool so you can
save your content. You can find the export tool at Settings > Export.
Please export your content by December 15, 2008, as the site will not
be accessible after this date.Please visit our new home to find out more:

I ragazzi del team di Pownce continueranno a lavorare in Six Apart, molto probabilmente sulla piattaforma Vox, anche se la società sviluppa oltre a questa piattaforma sia TypePad che Movable Type.
In ogni caso un investimento del genere che mira a chiudere il servizio e riutilizzare le competenze tecniche è significativo del fatto che il microblogging sia sopravvalutato? Oppure oltre twitter non cè spazio per nessuno?
